Dungeon & Quest. Week 3 dev log


A productive week... The dungeon & quest system is done, and more events and npc are still in progress.


Dungeon

I decide to separate the dungeon into Outer/Inner dungeon.

The Outer dungeon is bascially the free place where you can explore each area, meet new npc. I done it in linking node - You just simply click the place you wanna go. In some node the event is fixed, some aren't. I decide not to let it to be totally random.

Once you successfully find the entrance and satisfy certain condition - you may enter the inner dungeon. It will be much more chanllenging, with key story involved and more rewards. There is also related quest about 1st class Advancement inside inner dungeon.

The inner dungeon requires you have good understanding of your skills, proper equipment and knowledge about your enemies - they will be much stronger than outer dungeon. This is also the purpose of the outer dungeon: For you to prepare.

Quest

I forgot this in my last post... but done it anyway - It's a relative simple system.



Quests are accepted once certain dialogue is triggered, and no there is no max limit for accepted quest.

I also add some easy-looking pop up.

(Triva: They use the same class from damage number pop up )

Roadmap

I decide to add this part to my weekly devlog. I know if you are reading this you must be interested (or at least curious) about next build. For now there are still a bit of works:

  • Character Creation Menu / Save & Load.

I really should do this in any time - but the Priority isn't that high - I need to make sure other data structure being finalised. 

  • Demon Class Skills

I have written most of skill's mechanism - but not implemented yet. It is not hard to implement the logic, 

BUT I need to test them well (This part is torturing...).

I decided to do implement all skills for Demon since they are most played. Every week I will implement at least one sub-type skills (four in each) and give you guys a quick show of it. Likely in a gif.

  • Events, Quests, NPC, Enemies  in the outer area.

Forge System, Alchemy System. Other stuff shouldn't take too long. There are also some events and stages I can re-use from demo, though I need to do some adjustment.

The estimation for next build is around 14th June, with all thing completed above - Sounds bit far away?

Actually no.. it's like only in two or three weeks.
